A buffalo? A bison? A statue?

What can it mean? What is your guess?

Each week we will have a contest for whoever can most accurately predict the 2026 Open workout that week. Guess the movements, the numbers, the time domain and YOU can win. Do NOT just say random movements. Make up an entire workout for your guess.

There will be a weekly prize for closest prediction.

Post your prediction HERE or to the CrossFit Palo Alto Facebook post for that week, starting now up until Thursday at 12pm PST. If your guess is closest, you earn a prize and bragging rights all day Saturday. To be eligible, just be a CrossFit Palo Alto member and be registered for the Open.

Here’s your chance to win the Open!

Week 1 predictions start NOW! 3-2-1…GO!

GET SIGNED UP. If you want to. Which you should!

By the way, we’re sitting at 103 registered and I know we can get even more people. The most frequent command in The Bible is, “DO NOT BE AFRAID.” Good words to remember when it comes to signing up for The Open. Just sayin’.

See you in class.

“You can be part of the WE.”

Today I made mention of your new favorite sport for the next few weeks. It’s called Leaderboarding. Basically, once you do The Open workout for the week you will then enter the score/time into the CrossFit Games app. What follows is Leaderboarding. You will find yourself checking your rank amongst the world, North America, California and members of your gender/age group. It’s totally addicting and totally normal for three weeks out of the year.

“Tim, are you encouraging me to get obsessed with comparing myself to others?”

“Yes, 100 percent!”

Competition is healthy. It’s good to get some external motivation to be and perform at our best. And it’s for fun. So go ahead, track your friends. Compare away. Make side bets with friends in other places. At the end of the day we’ll all be a little stronger, fitter and harder to kill.

Thank you for your support.

I look forward to what we will do together.
