Analog is The Future

Deep Squats (Thoughts)

“Everybody who has been yearning for more real world — good news — it’s coming. Live events, getting together, going bowling, taking a hike, all these things in the real world are taking off, and analog is going to continue to explode.

In 2006, smartphones and social platforms didn’t exist as they do today and didn’t have any of the market share. Now, the pendulum has swung the other way and phones have gotten so much market share that we’re starting to unplug.

Within the next decade, we’ll see more businesses around the concept of unplugging. As we go to 2050, we’re going back to 1850… 1850 behavior will win!” – Gary Vaynerchuk

I saw this today from my bestie, Craig Howard at Diablo CrossFit. This is the kind of stuff we talk about all the time. We see it. People need people. Real life people. We all crave real stuff. And it’s so cool that I get to be part of all of your real lives every time you show up and lift real weights in the real world.

Thank you for the drop in photos. What an awesome feeling to share some sweaty vibes with real people in foreign lands! Sudheesh sent this from his latest trip to Japan. I don’t think we’ve had a member go to CrossFit Daikanyama before.

The handwritten note was sent 11 years ago and is an all-time favorite.

This place, CrossFit Palo Alto, is for you. It is our labor of love out of love for you each to experience love from us and each other. And with the words of Bill and Ted, “Be excellent to each other, and party on dudes!”

Of course, now I’m going to spin this into a plea for you to sign up for The Open.

We have 97 members signed up as of right now. It’s a new record for CFPA. Now let’s see how far over 100 we can get!

Lincoln Lawyer Season 4

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 presents a new make and model of Mickey Haller. The usually cool, calm, and collected defense attorney is working his highest-stakes case yet. This time, he’s the defendant — and it’s starting to break him.

In the show’s latest season — based on the bestselling sixth book in Michael Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer seriesThe Law of Innocence — Mickey’s fighting to prove he’s been framed for murder after a body is discovered in his car at the end of Season 3. Creator, co-showrunner, and executive producer Ted Humphrey says that after the attorney’s meteoric rise over the series’ first three seasons, Mickey’s now contending with the enemies he made along the way as they conspire to bring him down.

Tim’s Takeaway:

These series are a lot of fun to watch with Kristen, who turned me on to this one in the first place. This is another show that feels very relatable but is so unrealistic. Which is probably what makes it fun in a dissociative and escapist way.

Thank you for your support.

I look forward to what we will do together.
