CrossFit is Healthcare

“Never say never.” – Charles Dickens

Deep Squats (Thoughts)

CrossFit the company recently announced a new initiative call the CrossFit Medical Society. I’m still learning about it myself, but I want to share it with you. We have a lot of medical professionals in our community and we are all likely to need medical care at some point. Wouldn’t it be cool if your doctor, nurse, lab tech, etc. also did CrossFit and could relate to you even more because they also share your passion for fitness?

(The bolded portions are links to more details.)

In partnership with the new CrossFit Medical Society (CFMS), CrossFit aims to link affiliates with a team of physicians and healthcare professionals who can speak to the crucial role of lifestyle in fostering true health.

The CFMS intends to:

Reinforce affiliates as “health homes” in your communities by connecting affiliates with physicians and healthcare professionals who endorse CrossFit and believe CrossFit is Healthcare.

Validate CrossFit within the healthcare system by educating and growing a network of physicians and healthcare professionals who recognize the unique efficacy of CrossFit in fostering optimal health.

Educate with CrossFit courses for healthcare professionals and on initiatives like collaborations with clinics or hospitals, local provider referrals, and membership funding.

Overheard in Class:

“I was promised the Mississippi.”

Timfluencing

James by: Percival Everett

“A brilliant, action-packed reimagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , both harrowing and ferociously funny, told from the enslaved Jim’s point of view.

While many narrative set pieces of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn remain in place (floods and storms, stumbling across both unexpected death and unexpected treasure in the myriad stopping points along the river’s banks, encountering the scam artists posing as the Duke and Dauphin…), Jim’s agency, intelligence and compassion are shown in a radically new light.”

Tim’s Takeaway: Another gem of a recommendation from the CFPA community. Throught provoking and challenging topic with a twist that I can’t say I have heard or thought of before. Click the photo or the Title to go right to it.

Thank you for your support.

I look forward to what we will do together.
